Pickup trucks for rent in Umm Al Quwain

Renting pickup trucks in Umm Al Quwain

The pickup truck is the workhorse of every UAE site. It moves scaffolding, blocks, cement, steel, small machines and crews between the yard and the site, and it is the vehicle most often hired by the trip rather than by the day. Drivers wait at stands in the industrial areas and are usually ready to move within the hour.

Almost every pickup on Ujrah comes with its driver and is priced per trip inside the emirate, with longer runs and waiting time agreed on the phone. Loading is usually by hand unless the truck has a crane arm, so say what the load is when you call.

Where to find them in Umm Al Quwain

Umm Al Quwain's New Industrial Area, off Emirates Road, is the emirate's main stand for pickups and tankers, and many of the vehicles there carry plates from neighbouring emirates. It is a small emirate, so a truck listed here usually reaches any site in Umm Al Quwain within minutes.

Sizes and types

• 1 ton: a single-cab pickup for tools, small material runs and crew transport.
• 3 ton: the standard site truck, a flat bed with drop sides, good for scaffolding, blocks and pallets.
• 7 ton: a longer bed for steel, formwork and heavier pallet loads; often has a crane arm.
• 10 ton: the largest pickup class before a trailer is needed; long steel, big pallet counts, full scaffold sets.

What to ask the owner

• Which emirate is the plate from, and will it pick up where your load is?
• Is the price per trip, per hour or per day, and does it include the driver and fuel?
• How much waiting time at each end is included before extra charges start?
• Does it have a crane arm, and if not, who loads and unloads?
• What is the bed length and can it take the longest item you have?

Common questions

How is a pickup truck usually charged in the UAE?

Per trip within the emirate is the most common, with the driver included. Hourly and daily rates are used for sites that need the truck on call all day. Long runs between emirates are quoted separately.

Does the driver come with the truck?

Yes in almost every case. The owner is often the driver. You are hiring the truck and the driver together.

What does a 3 ton pickup carry?

Roughly three tonnes on a flat bed with drop sides: a set of scaffolding, a pallet or two of blocks or cement, steel up to the bed length, or a small machine that can be lifted on.

Can a Sharjah pickup collect from Dubai?

Many owners will, but not all. Each listing shows the emirate or area it picks up from; call and confirm before you send it to the yard.
